We talk about the importance of the event for the region, the impact on tourism and sustainability. We find out more about the construction of trails, the fascination of mountain biking and look ahead to next year's Mountain Bike World Championships in Valais.
Valais is predestined for the sport of cycling. The State Council therefore defined and adopted the «Valais/Wallis bike» strategy back in 2017. This is a document that serves as a reference for the destinations to create tourist experiences. Damian Constantin, Director of Valais/Wallis Promotion, talks about this strategy and how important the sport of biking is for tourism in Valais.
Steve Morabito raced professionally for many years. Today he is President of the Valais Cycling Federation and OC President of next year's Mountain Bike World Championships in our canton. Preparations for this major event are already in full swing and will bring not only many bike fans but also tourists to Valais in summer 2025. After all, around 200,000 spectators are expected to attend the Mountain Bike World Championships.
