OUR HISTORY

In addition to a variety of local community bike races, the two destinations already have a wealth of experience for international and national bike events. Starting with the iXS Downhill Cup in Bellwald, which will see its impressive 16th edition in 2024, Bellwald has made a name for itself as a bike destination. The entry of the Swiss Enduro Series into the Aletsch Arena in 2022 marked another significant milestone on this path. The series, known for its challenging courses and promotion of the national enduro scene, found the Aletsch Arena to be the ideal venue. A year later, in 2023, the Aletsch Arena hosted again, this time for the Swiss Enduro Series Swiss Championship, further cementing the region's goal as the leading location for enduro racing in Switzerland. The announcement that the Aletsch Arena and Bellwald will host the UCI Enduro World Cup in 2024, as well as the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Championships the following year in 2025, is a clear sign of the international recognition the region is striving for as a biking destination. These events not only attract the world's best athletes, but also draw the attention of the global mountain bike community.
